The Annual GPC Volunteer Awards have been developed as a way to recognize and honour those people who help make our party tick. The winners of these four awards will be honoured at our Convention. The nomination window is now closed.
Rod Paul Volunteer Award (Legacy Award)
The Rod Paul volunteer award recognizes members who have demonstrated exceptional volunteer service and commitment building the Green Party of Canada. Rod Paul was a committed staff person who gave of himself tirelessly, organizing volunteers and volunteering himself. Those who had the opportunity to work with him will never forget him.
Community Involvement Award (Based on individual achievement)
The Community Involvement Award recognizes volunteers with a proven track record of engaging citizens in the promotion of Green values such as ecological wisdom, social justice or participatory democracy within their community.
Rising Star (For new volunteers)
The Rising Star Award will recognize a newcomer (3 years or less) to the GPC who has shown enthusiasm and ability in volunteering for their riding association, GPC office or a GPC committee.
Young Green Achievement Award (Must be a Young green)
The YGAA recognizes the hard work and dedication of a Young Green for their involvement in their local campus club, riding association, community or central office.
Nominations must include background information (approximately 200 words) including the reasons for the nomination, how the nominee has been involved with the GPC and how the nominee reflects the characteristics of the award. Nominees must have a valid membership in the GPC. The awards committee may contact you if they require more information.
