Position Type
This is a full time permanent, unionized position. The successful applicant will be expected to work an average of 37.5 hours per week from a remote location. Occasional travel to Ottawa may be required, as may some evening/weekend work, particularly during periods preceding a federal election.

 

Salary

Job Description

About the role
This is a unique opportunity to play a central role ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of technology for the Green Party of Canada as a Development, Operations and Support Technician as part of our small but mighty tech team. We’re looking for a proactive, solutions focused person with a keen interest and some experience in DevOps experience, familiarity with multiple components of our current tech stack or similar counterparts. More important than direct experience is a strong interest in acquiring new knowledge and competencies in a rapidly shifting technical environment. Because of the supportive aspect of this position, excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must.Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Development and Operations:
    • Full cycle management of a Content Management System (Drupal)
      • Some PHP required
      • Host: Rackspace
    • Full cycle management of a Customer Relationship Management system (CiviCRM)
      • Some SQL required
      • Host: RackSpace
    • Ongoing support for our in-house “Get Out The Vote” software
      • Host: Google Cloud Platform
      • DBaaS: Mongo DBAtlas
      • Ruby on Rails an asset
      • SaaS integrations include
        • Bulk Email 
        • Voip Services  
        • User support  
  2. User support/management (largely SaaS):
    • Back Office:
      • Work management  
      • Ticketing help desk  
      • Teleworker support 
      • Instant Messaging  
      • Conferencing 
      • Electronic Signing  
      • Survey 
      • Voting 
      • e-Signing 
      • Merchant Services 
      • Social media accounts 
      • Special responsibility: extracting and transforming financial data (SQL) for our finance department. 
    • General (Party-wide) administrative support 
      • Google Workspace accounts 
      • Training and one-on-one troubleshooting for Party members, staff and executives
  3. Continuous Digital Transformation planning and implementation tasks
  4. Other relevant tasks as required
