William influences change for holistic sustainability in industry, not-for-profit organizations, and politics. He received the Corporate Knight’s magazine Top 30 under Top 30 Sustainability Leader Award in 2018.
William holds a building engineering degree (Concordia 2017) and completed graduate studies in sustainable carbon management (Université du Québec à Chicoutimi 2018). He studied bioclimatic architecture in Mexico (Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey) and wind energy in Ireland (University College Cork), has two LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) professional accreditations and is an Environmental Professional in training (EPt, ECO Canada). He is fluent in French, English and Spanish.
William started his involvement in grassroots democracy as the leader of the Concordia University Young Greens, then joined the Council of the Young Greens of Canada, and is now the Quebec representative on the Federal Council of the Green Party of Canada (2017-2019).
In 2018, William was invited to present his work at various conferences in Anchorage, Toronto, Singapore, Yellowknife, and Montreal. In 2019 he will be speaking in Montreal, Seattle and Rotterdam.
William works towards the Building Retrofit Economy for green employment growth and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions; he is a “true hero for those trying to close the gap between industry and sustainability”.
