Preamble

WHEREAS the current procedure the Party takes when the Leader position become vacant is not codified in the Party's Bylaws;

Operative

BE IT RESOLVED that the following new bylaw be added to the Party's Bylaws:

"Where the Leader's term ends or the position of Leader otherwise becomes vacant, Federal Council shall forthwith appoint an interim Leader until a Leadership Contest is held and a new Leader is elected. A Leadership Contest must be held within six months of the appointment of an interim Leader. "
