Elizabeth May welcomes NDP commitment to "unmuzzle" scientists, pledges to work collaboratively in the next minority government

(OTTAWA) - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada (Saanich – Gulf Islands), said she welcomes the NDP's announcement to "unmuzzle" scientists and pledges to work together with the next government to ensure this happens.
"I have said since 2007 that Canadian scientists must be free to do their work without political interference. Stephen Harper’s Conservatives have constantly interfered with scientists’ important work, stopped them from speaking to the media, and banned access to published research.

“As we say in our platform, when Green MPs are elected this fall, we will work across party lines to ensure Canadian scientists can speak freely without censorship or political interference. Canadians deserve to know the truth.”
