Ottawa: Elizabeth May at Hope Live

Event Description

Elizabeth May, Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Islands and Leader of the Green Party of Canada, is attending "Hope Live: A gale evening in support of Fertile Future."

Fertile Future strives to inform every young Canadian cancer patient about their fertility preservation options and the long-term health care issues associated with cancer treatments.

Each year, an estimated 10,000 young Canadians face a cancer diagnosis. Approximately 8,000 of them will win this battle. Without knowing the importance of fertility preservation prior to their treatment, many are left infertile with few options.

Fertile Future aspires to enrich the lives of young people diagnosed with cancer by promoting awareness and understanding of fertility preservation and survivor health care issues. Fertile Future also works to educate health care practitioners on providing timely information on fertility preservation options and long-term health care issues, as well as raise knowledge and awareness about these key issues across Canada.

When: October 15, 2012 starting at 6:30 pm
Where: Great Canadian Theatre Company, 1233 Wellington Street West
