Location: National Party Headquarters, Ottawa

The Green Party of Canada is seeking a highly-motivated, energetic individual to fill the position of Communications Director. The Communications Director leads the communications team and works strategically with the Leader and National Campaign Manager to develop and implement an organizational communications strategy and a national campaign communications strategy. The Communications Director works closely with the Leader, who is the main spokesperson for the Green Party of Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communications strategies that encompass all the communications channels of the Party: media; social media; fundraising; platform development; and, in conjunction with other departments, member and internal communications.
  • Grow, lead and manage a communications team and its resources to translate the strategy into a consistent action plan with tactics across departments.
  • Oversee communications operations, departmental budgeting, fundraising and issues management.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in both official languages is desirable and an asset.
  • At least five years communications management experience and ability to work with an organization to develop a comprehensive communications strategy.
  • Political, environmental or social justice experience, including experience with election campaigns.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization.
