The Green Party of Canada is holding elections for Federal Council and for the Young Greens of Canada Council (YGCC). These councils are the Party’s elected boards. They represent members and ensure accountability.
Elections are your chance to step forward as a candidate – or to help shape the Party by casting your vote.

Federal Council Elections
Federal Council is the Green Party of Canada’s elected board of directors.

- Newfoundland and Labrador Representative

Who can run
- You must be a Green Party member in good standing for at least 30 days before nominations open.
- Other eligibility details are set out in the official Federal Council Election Rules.
How to apply
- Complete the Federal Council nomination form.
- Collect the required number of nominators.
- Submit your application, candidate profile, and photo before nominations close.
Young Greens of Canada Council Elections
The Young Greens Council (YGCC) represents members aged 14–29.
Positions up for election
- Regular elections (two year term):
- Co-Chair
- Finance Coordinator
- BC Representative
- Quebec Representative
- Atlantic Representative
- By-elections (one year term):
- Engagement Coordinator
- Advocacy Coordinator
- Prairies Representative
- Northern Representative
Who can run
- You must be a Young Greens member in good standing.
- You must be between 14 and 29 (inclusive) at the close of voting.

How to apply
- Complete the Young Greens Council Nomination & Application Form.
- Submit your profile, photo, and required nominators by the deadline.
During the campaign
- Candidate profiles and skills/experience statements will be posted on the Green Party of Canada website.
- Candidates can share one additional message with members by email.
- Members will also have the chance to ask questions at an online Town Hall.
Voting
All eligible members will receive a secure electronic ballot by email when voting opens. Reminders will be sent during the voting period.
