The Green Party of Canada is proud to join with OpenMedia and over 300 other organizations worldwide for this important international campaign against mass surveillance.
In joining, we are taking a stand against CSEC’s unaccountable, indiscriminate surveillance of law-abiding Canadians.
We support the BC Civil Liberties Association and OpenMedia in challenging the legality of CSEC’s secret collection of a variety of sensitive data from the computers and mobile devices of Canadians.
For far too long, this data collection has been carried out without a warrant, without explanation, and without any kind of accountability.
The Green Party believes in a free and open Internet, and that Canadians have a right to online privacy.
