My name is Victoria Galea and I am running for the Ontario Representative position on the Young Greens Federal Council. I started volunteering with the GPC back in 2017 right after finishing my Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, when I became the CEO of the Hamilton East - Stoney Creek riding association. With six months under my belt I then also became the CEO for Hamilton West - Ancaster - Dundas, my home riding. I took a year off to focus on growing my political roots while working at Tesla Motors, then went back to school for my Master of Arts degree in International Relations. During this time I was really focused on growing the Green Party base, so I co-created the McMaster Young Greens, building a fantastic team of Green climate activists working towards the goals of divesting the University from fossil fuels, banning single-use plastics, and creating a greener campus. I also decided it was time for my first political campaign, putting my name into the ring as a candidate for the Green Party in HWAD in the 43rd federal election. My team and I doubled the vote hitting 7.4% at 4775 green votes. I want to inspire fellow young greens to know that they too can run in an election at a young age and motivate them to get active in their communities and on campus. I hope that you vote for Victoria to help raise the Ontario profile within the Green Party.
