Green Party of Canada deputy leader Jonathan Pedneault announced today that he is resigning from his position and politics for personal reasons.<\/p>
“It has been the honour of a lifetime to work alongside Elizabeth May – an absolute national treasure – and Mike Morrice, two outstanding Members of Parliament who dedicate their every waking hour to making the lives of their constituents better,” said Pedneault. “At a time of hyper-partisanship, Elizabeth and Mike exemplify public service in ways that no other politicians can or do.”<\/p>
"I'm heartbroken at the news that my dear friend and deputy leader Jonathan Pedneault is resigning. But I fully respect his decision, and I'll keep working to build the Green party up," said Elizabeth May.<\/p>
Pedneault will offer no further comments on the matter. <\/p>
