OTTAWA –<\/strong> The Green Party of Canada was grateful to participate in Radio-Canada\u2019s French-language debate on francophone issues in Ottawa and highlight the need for increased federal funding for French education and services and heightened targets for French immigration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Green Party continues to champion the rights and voices of French-speaking communities outside Quebec, who too often find themselves overlooked in national conversations. At a time when francophone minority communities face increasing pressure from the dominance of English\u2014particularly in a globalized media landscape\u2014the need for bold, principled leadership has never been greater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One such voice is Gabrielle Dupont, the Green Party\u2019s candidate in Yukon, who represents a new generation of francophone leaders determined to build a more inclusive and bilingual Canada. Gabrielle and others within the party are working tirelessly to ensure that French-speaking Canadians, no matter where they live, are heard and respected. Pam Allen-Leblanc in Fredericton-Oromocto also proudly stands to support and protect French in New Brunswick, as does Mike Morrice in his work with the Franco-Ontarian community in Kitchener Centre<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Green Party of Canada thanks Radio-Canada for organizing a debate that put the spotlight on issues critical to francophones.Canadians who speak French outside of Quebec and want authentic, principled representation can count on the Green Party of Canada to stand with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
