At just 20 years old, Homer-Dixon represents a new generation of leadership, bringing fresh energy, bold ideas, and a deep commitment to tackling the most pressing challenges of our time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cI\u2019m running for Member of Parliament because young people deserve strong representation in shaping the future,\u201d said Ben Homer-Dixon. \u201cWe need leaders who will prioritize climate action, social justice, and economic equity. I\u2019m ready to step up and make sure our voices are heard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">A first-year Geography student at the University of Victoria, Homer-Dixon is focused on the intersection of human activity and the natural world, particularly the effects of sea-level rise, flooding, and drought on land use. His passion for environmental policy is rooted in both academic research and real-world experience, having conducted empirical fieldwork on Vancouver Island\u2019s creeks, forests, and urban areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cBen is exactly the kind of leader we need\u2014someone who understands the urgency of the climate crisis, believes in evidence-based policy, and has the energy and determination to drive real change,\u201d said Green Party co-leader Elizabeth May. \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to welcome him as our candidate in Esquimalt\u2014Saanich\u2014Sooke.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Homer-Dixon is also a passionate advocate for civic engagement and intergenerational equity. His TEDx talk, \u201cSomeone Else\u2019s Problem,\u201d explores how societal inaction on major crises\u2014like climate change\u2014can be overcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cBen represents the future of Canada\u2014one where young people are not only at the table but leading the conversation,\u201d said Green Party co-leader Jonathan Pedneault. \u201cHis deep roots in the community, his commitment to sustainability, and his drive to make a difference make him an outstanding candidate for Esquimalt\u2014Saanich\u2014Sooke.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Homer-Dixon\u2019s family has a long history in the riding.
