(OTTAWA) August 31, 2017 – Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada (MP, Saanich-Gulf Islands), issued the following statement for Eid al-Adha:
“Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of the Sacrifice, is a holy day for Muslims in Canada and around the world. This evening marks the start of this observance, when Muslims gather together to pray, share a meal, exchange gifts and serve those in need. It is a reminder of the importance of families, friends and fostering strong communities.
“On behalf of the Green Party, I extend my best wishes to all who partake in Eid al-Adha observances over the coming days. Eid Mubarak!”
