Ban toxic single-use plastics

A frightening new report reveals that we’re ingesting between 70,000 and 120,000 pieces of toxic microplastic a year through our food and water. Toxic plastic in our bodies can lead to dangerous inflammation.
 
For years, Elizabeth has been calling for a ban on wasteful single-use plastics, which degrade into microplastics. Now the whole country  is on our side.

Canada’s plastic habit is out of control. We generate about 3.25 million tonnes of plastic waste each year, and only 11 per cent is recycled.
