Vancouver Quadra

When Dr. Geoff Wright sees a problem, he wants to fix it. A Professional Engineer with a background in scientific research, he is ready to put in the hard work necessary to confront the climate crisis.

As an internationally competitive athlete in rowing, Geoff developed a national perspective. This was expanded further by a federal research position at the Department of National Defence. Since then, he has worked in health and safety with Ontario’s Ministry of Labour and the City of Vancouver.

In addition to these experiences, Geoff taught courses at UofT and Ryerson and was an Adjunct Professor at UBC, where he published scientific articles and was focused on applying the natural sciences. He has also run his own consulting business, becoming familiar with the challenges facing small business owners.

Now living in Dunbar, Geoff manages and assists local soccer, basketball and baseball teams, and along with his wife Dr. Monika Naus, enjoys attending his daughter’s recitals at Westside Dance Centre.

As a volunteer, Geoff has served on the board of the Lung Association, been President of a national professional association in ergonomics, and serves on a CSA Technical Committee. Currently, he volunteers for the Green Party of Vancouver, and is excited to take the next step and run in Vancouver Quadra in the 2019 election.
