Cynthia Trentelman grew up in Clarence Creek, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Laurentian University in Sudbury, and currently lives in Waterloo with her partner of 12 years, Corey Trentelman. Having lived across the province, she considers the whole of Ontario her home.

She is committed to represent the riding in which she is running for as it is home. Cynthia’s interest in politics started in 2014, following the American primaries and 2016 elections. She finds that both the United States and Canada share similar obstacles when it comes to environmental, social, and economical issues. The election of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was an inspiring moment for her, as she can see herself in Miss Ocasio-Cortez, a young passionate working woman, who just wants to bring forth needed change for the people of her country.

She likes to keep herself informed on all matters and to look at evidence-based research prior to making an opinion on a matter. For one, a new study from July 2019 suggest that 1 billion hectares of trees would reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which could help with the climate crisis as long as additional measures are also taken. She would like to see a plan where Canada comes together to make this a reality.

Cynthia enjoys a healthy lifestyle, she takes time to exercises alone, with friends, or her partner whenever possible, she also enjoys to paint and play video games in her free time.
