Mississauga—Erin Mills

Remo Boscarino-Gaetano was born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, and currently attends the University of Guelph where he is completing his bachelor’s degree in zoology with a minor in philosophy. Remo grew up with a natural curiosity for life and has been encouraged throughout his childhood to pursue his passion. This has led to a deep understanding and appreciation of life on this planet and the responsibility humans have to maintain our natural ecosystem.
Remo believes that the climate crisis is the single most important issue that humanity has to confront, and that the current destruction of our natural environment threatens every aspect of Canadian society. He believes that transitioning to a clean economy and securing additional environmental protections are necessary for Canada to remain competitive in the global marketplace and to sustain our high quality of life.
Remo’s passion for Canada’s wilderness has led him to volunteer at numerous organizations such as the Toronto Wildlife Centre and Parks Canada in order to make a positive impact in his community. He is hoping he can make a further impact once he gains his degree in zoology, however, he knows that the climate crisis is a pressing issue that requires immediate action. As a result, he has been motivated to run for the Green Party of Canada to bring attention towards the urgency of the climate crisis and to force politicians from all parties to act on this issue.
Remo was raised alongside his two younger siblings by his hard-working mother. He wants to take the values his mother shared with him to ensure that his brother and sister, and every other child in Canada, has the opportunity to thrive in a healthy, sustainable world.
