Ban single-use plastics

Canadians generate about 3.25 million tonnes of plastic waste each year. That’s roughly 140,000 garbage trucks worth of non-biodegradable waste crowding our landfills, clogging our waterways and choking our oceans.

What’s worse, these plastic items take hundreds of years to decompose.

There’s a better way.

Greens are working in the House to follow Europe’s lead by banning single-use plastics like straws, plastic bags and coffee cup lids, and encouraging sustainable marketplace solutions. Can you support Elizabeth May, Paul Manly and the Green Party’s work by signing our letter campaign?

Call on the Environment Minister to defend our coasts and ban single-use plastics. Will you add your name to demand they ban single-use plastics?
