I’ve just received my postal ballot full of with more than 100 motions – it’s a bit overwhelming.
The most important motion to support is G08-c01 - 2008 Constitutional Proposal – because it puts back in place the protection to the amending clauses that prevent the anti-take over clauses from being altered. (if you support it too then circle the G for Green). These were
1)Passed overwhelmingly in 2004 at the Calgary AGM, but the Constitutional Review Committee set up at the same meeting didn’t respect the will of the meeting and watered some of the clauses protecting the anti take over clause from being easily amended;
2)That were overwhelming re-passed by the membership in 2006, but for reasons which I don't understand, weren’t implemented.
So for the third time now I am urging all members to support G08-c01 to ensure the party is protected.
I also support Directive Motion G08-d11 Revenue Sharing – as PDs must work in harmony with the party’s goals.
