Greens forcing Campbell's Liberals in BC to Adopt green themes: Throne Speech

If you've ever wondered what difference voting Green makes you need look any further than the February 12 front cover The Province.

The banner headline "Cleaner, greener, leaner BC" refers to the Throne Speech -- which is picking up themes from the Green Party's agenda.

Is it any coincidence that the Green Party is at 21% in BC according to polls? I think not.

Voting Green nudges other parties to talk about what we're advocating but electing greens will force them to act

For a really good anaylsis of the details of the budget read GPBC Leader Jane Sterk's blog at http://www.greenparty.ca/en/node/3979 entitled The BC Liberal Government's Carbon Tax Needs Some Thoughtful/Green Criticism .

Basically while proposing at "carbon tax" of 2.7 cents on a litre of gas that's selling for more than $1 -- it's a very, very gentle carbon tax -- and it hides the fact that the Liberals are increasing subsidies to the oil and gas industry. It's an excellent blog -- read it!
