David Daughton/Lobie of “Healthy Community Partners” fosters Population, and Planetary Health through focus on democracy, good governance, and conflict resolution. He was PEI’s first Green candidate, in 1984, and volunteered in every Election since, most recently as CEO of the Charlottetown EDA. David served in the Health portfolio on GPC Shadow Cabinet. He was a founder of GPPEI and is active both provincially and federally, from cooking for volunteers to media interviews (in both Official Languages). 

Broad work experience includes non-profit housing, Public Legal Education, Family Violence Prevention, provincial and federal government departments, and as a serial entrepreneur. Daughton assisted dozens of new and established enterprises as a co-operative developer. As a food activist, Lobie/David ran food businesses in the UK, USA and Canada (including as a founding partner of Ottawa’s “Green Door”), taught cooking, researched food security with MSVU, and nourished celebrities such as Bob Dylan & Bob Marley.

Daughton was twice elected Chair of the Canadian Environmental Network. He served as an external adviser for Environment Canada’s “Report on Human Health and the Environment” and was awarded the Quebec-Labrador Foundation “Caring For the Earth Award” in 2000. David was the founding President of La Coopérative du Réseau de développeurs (www.coopzone.coop); he also played a lead role in establishing PEI’s Community Sector Network and was elected as the President in 2019. As a “Treaty Person”, years of respectful participation in Indigenous ceremony led to the honour of receiving an eagle feather from a Mi’kmaq Elder.
