Delaney Crawford

Young Greens New Brunswick

Hi there.

My name is Delaney. I am a 2nd year student at St. Thomas University. I am double majoring in English and in Communications/Public Policy. I identify as a lesbian, as an intersectional feminist, and as an environmentalist. I am also a Canadian, and while I love my country I must acknowledge that some change is due. I want to represent my province on the Young Greens of Canada Council because I want to be a part of that change.

I became involved with the Green Party of New Brunswick during my first year of studies. I joined my local Green campus club, and we worked closely with David Coon to attend events in Fredericton. I have also taken courses in environment; my fear of climate change pushed me to serve on the YGCC, but my recognition of the youth voice needed in my province has inspired me to run again.

Although my political experience is limited, I am learning through my studies about how public policy affects the world. As an aspiring editor, I feel that it is my duty to ensure that the youth of my province understands what policy the Green Party stands for, and how their actions, and their vote, can change our future.

I want to maintain my position because I want to ensure that all communications between the YGCC and the rest of the world are executed efficiently; I want to help the youth of my home find their own voices.
