Bryanne Lamoureux

Young Greens Manitoba

I am a 24-year-old, Franco-Manitoban university student currently completing a double major in Environmental Studies and Sociology at the University of Winnipeg, where I also work as a Research Assistant. I have extensive organization skills and have organized everything from fundraisers to youth sports teams. I am the treasurer in my departmental student group and am active in the sustainability community on campus. I am an elected member of the Green Party of Manitoba’s Executive Council, where I have recently initiated a monthly newsletter to ensure better communication for our membership. I have always cared deeply for people and the environment; this informed my choice to become a Green Party of Canada member in 2015.

I have had the pleasure of serving as the Manitoba Representative on YGC since August 2018. Since being elected, I have been an active and contributing member on council, and I currently occupy the Chair position on our Campaigns Committee. I have also started a campus club at my University, where I have been able to make politics more accessible to students. I plan to work on extending this community outside of the university, as well as outside of Winnipeg in order to more accurately represent all Manitoban Young Greens.

A vote for me means the opportunity for me to continue building onto the work I have already started on the Young Greens Council. I hope to be able to continue engaging and empowering youth in my province through the position of YGC’s Manitoba Representative.
