(OTTAWA) - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and MP (Saanich – Gulf Islands), issued the following statement regarding today’s Alberta Court of Appeal decision to grant bail to Omar Khadr:
“I am pleased to hear the Court of Appeal granted Mr. Khadr’s bail request – it is a sign of hope and a victory of human rights.
“Now that he is on bail, it is my hope that Omar Khadr will be supported as he transitions to a normal life as a productive Canadian citizen.”
