Green Party leadership contest hosts series of online regional town halls

OTTAWA – The Green Party of Canada leadership contest will host six regional online town halls across Canada starting on Monday. The nine contestants seeking the party leadership will respond to submitted questions and each event will feature two moderators. Three provincial Green Party leaders and one provincial deputy leader are among the moderators.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Canadians from coast to coast to coast to interact with our strong and diverse field of contestants,” said Green Party Interim Leader Jo-Ann Roberts. “These town halls are intended to provide a more informal and lively discussion than the more strictly formatted debates.”

Participants are encouraged to submit questions for the contestants in advance. Questions will also be taken live during the town halls.

The nine contestants are (in alphabetical order): Judy N Green (NS), Meryam Haddad (QC), Courtney Howard (NWT), Amita Kuttner (BC), Dimitri Lascaris (QC), David Merner (BC), Glen Murray (MB), Annamie Paul (ON) and Andrew West (ON).
