Ten contestants will compete for Green Party leadership

OTTAWA – The Green Party of Canada has announced the final lineup for its leadership contest – a strong and diverse field of 10 contestants hailing from every region of the country.

“I’m very excited about how our leadership contest is shaping up,” said Green Party Interim Leader Jo-Ann Roberts. “I believe it will generate lots of interest from members and also attract new members who are looking for a more inclusive approach to politics.

“Our contestants not only hail from coast to coast to coast, they also reflect the diversity that is our nation’s greatest strength. That augurs well for a Green future.”

The 10 contestants are (in alphabetical order):

All Green Party members in good standing are eligible to vote for the new leader. Online voting will take place from September 26 to October 3. A mail-in option will also be available. The party will announce its new leader in October.
