Statement on the results of the provincial election in Nova Scotia

(OTTAWA) – Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada, released the following statement:

“On behalf of the Green Party of Canada, I extend my thanks to Nova Scotia Greens Leader, Dr. Thomas Trappenberg, as well as the 32 Green candidates and many volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to represent the Green Party of Nova Scotia.

“While yesterday’s low overall voter turnout is disappointing, more than 11,000 Nova Scotians cast their ballot for a Green candidate – the best result in Nova Scotia Greens history. This is a strong foundation for the future, and we are confident Greens will elect their first Nova Scotian MLA in the next provincial election.”
