(OTTAWA) - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada (MP, Saanich-Gulf Islands), released the following statement:
“I’m heartbroken to hear my friend Jim Prentice was killed last night in a plane crash. My heart goes out to Jim’s wife, Karen, three daughters and grandchildren as they mourn this tragic loss,” Ms. May said. “As Environment Minister, Jim showed genuine concern to protecting the environment. Professionally, I will remember him fondly for his principled stance in rejecting the Prosperity Mine near Fish Lake, British Columbia in 2010.
“It’s a sad day for Canada and for all of us in public life. Jim will be missed.”
