(OTTAWA) -- In reference to the Green Party of Canada's compliance agreement with the Commissioner of Canada Elections under section 517 of the Canada Elections Act:
The Green Party holds itself to a higher standard, and Federal Council accepts the Commissioner of Canada Elections' finding. We commit to investigate why our existing safeguards were ineffective and to improve our system of checks, balances and accountability. Our President will report the findings of the investigation to party members and all Canadians.
