Elizabeth May expresses her sorrow and support for the people of France

(Ottawa) November 13, 2015 – Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party and Member of Parliament (Saanich―Gulf Islands) issued the following statement concerning today's attacks in Paris:

"Once again, horror and violence have erupted today in the very heart of Paris. Our thoughts and prayers go out first to the victims, their families, and relatives who are living through these horrible moments," said Ms. May. "Along with our Prime Minister, the Honorable Justin Trudeau, I fully support his offer to provide all possible assistance to the people of France in this difficult moment.”

“Once again, these events are an attempt to spread division, fear, and terror among the citizens and the countries of the world.  But I know that these attacks will never break the solidarity, friendship, and respect that we have for one another. On the contrary, they compel us to redouble our efforts towards a lasting peace."
