Green Party of Canada opens first campaign office in Quebec

(OTTAWA) - On Friday, the Green Party of Canada opened its first campaign office in Quebec to a crowd of over 100 people in the Montérégie region of Montreal.

The grand opening signalled the growing momentum of the Green Party in Quebec.

“We are extremely happy to have a place where South Shore residents can hear about our vision and share their ideas with us,” said Corina Bastiani, Campaign Manager for the riding of Pierre-Boucher-Les Patriotes-Verchères and organizer of the event. “We were pleased that so many families attended the grand opening to share the vision of our Deputy Leader, Daniel Green, especially on an evening when the Montreal Canadians are playing an important game.”

Sylvie Boulet, Treasurer of the Pierre-Boucher-Les Patriotes-Verchères Green Party riding association and local business woman, added how everyone could feel the excitement in the air and how she was encouraged that this could be one of Quebec’s first Green ridings.

Jici Lauzon, comedian, and cultural commentator performed musically at the event and shared in the growing excitement with South Shore families. Regarding his possible candidacy for the region, M. Lauzon added, “It would be quite a leap that I would have to make, but I am seriously thinking about running.  However, last night was about celebrating the exciting campaign launch of the Green Party of Canada in Quebec.”

Daniel Green, Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Canada and candidate for Ville-Marie-Le Sud-Ouest-Île-des-Soeurs, was present to share the Green Party’s vision with Montreal residents.

“I am proud to announce the opening of the first campaign office for the Green Party in Quebec!  By having this office located by the river for families to enjoy, is a sign of a promising campaign,” concluded Deputy Leader Green. “I want to invite all residents to learn more about what the Green Party can offer to this community, including better policies on fossil fuel transportation, agriculture, and the protection of our rivers.”
