Advisory: Elizabeth May visits with Site C dam hunger striker in Vancouver, B.C.

(OTTAWA) - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada (MP, Saanich – Gulf Islands), holds media availability with protester Kristen Henry to discuss BC Hydro’s Site C dam project.

Ms. Henry has been on hunger strike since March 13 in a temporary encampment outside BC Hydro’s corporate headquarters in Vancouver. Ms. May has personal experience with the physical effects of hunger strike. In 2001, she fasted to successfully pressure the government to clean up toxic waste in the Cape Breton Sydney Tar Ponds.
