The Montreal Chapter of the Council of Canadians is pleased to invite you and your friends to the bilingual presentation "Proportional Representation" by Daniel Green, Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Canada and William Gagnon of the Young Greens of Canada.
Daniel and William will explain the electoral system and the way politics works today.
During the November 2015 Federal Election, Prime Minister Trudeau promised electoral reform. After more than a year, it is still a work in progress – The Joint Committee as well as the government are trying to reach a consensus acceptable to Canadians failing which it may lead to a referendum.
Daniel Green has worked as an environmentalist for more than thirty years. Since the year 2000, Daniel is the co-president of Société pour Vaincre la Pollution and is a consultant for the Sierra Club of Canada, Eau Secours, Nature Quebec, Parks Canada and various Canadian municipalities. William Gagnon is the V.P. of campaigns and external affairs for the Young Greens of Canada. He is also the president of the Concordia University Young Greens.
