Position Type: This is a permanent management position. The successful applicant will be expected to work an average of 37.5 hours per week. Some evening/weekend work may be required, particularly during periods preceding a federal election.

Salary: $85,000-$100,000 per year 

Reporting structure: Reports to the Executive Director

Assets

  • Experience with DevOps, focus on delivering services via modern public clouds
  • Experience with Data Analytics workflows, SQL, ETL, etc…
  • Experience with php, custom cms development, and specifically drupal development
  • Experience with ruby and specifically rails development

Job Description

Description of responsibilities: 

Responsible for planning and delivery of services from the Technical Services department, including managing: customer service levels, a staff of 1-3 employees, and budget. Most of these services are based on Google cloud services (e.g. email and file storage), AWS, Drupal and CiviCRM. 

  • Major Services
    • System administration
      • Services maintenance and setup
        • Collaboration tools (e.g. HelpScout and Asana)
        • Compute resources (traditional cloud servers)
        • External API web services
        • Email, SMS, Telephony services (e.g. GMail, Twilio, …)
        • Database services
        • Analytics services (i.e. Google Analytics)
        • File-sharing/backup services
      • Office equipment maintenance 
        • file-sharing services (e.g. Google Drive)
        • print/scan services
        • backup services
        • internet access
      • Development
        • manage a Content Management System (CMS)(Drupal)
        • manage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (CiviCRM)
      • Technical Support
        • ensure all technical support issues are handled appropriately and in a timely manner
        • ensure smooth office equipment technical functioning
      • Project Management
        • Work with other teams on digital planning/strategy
        • Collaborate with other teams to effectively define and execute projects that execute on annual plan goals
    • Manage stakeholder relationships - Members, member-officers, party committees and units (including volunteer groups), other management, staff
    • Other duties as described in the annual plan
    • Other relevant tasks as required
