Elizabeth will attend the Salt Spring Forum for a special evening with documentary filmmaker and television journalist Avi Lewis.
Avi Lewis has a 25-year history of pushing the boundaries of mainstream media. He recently directed This Changes Everything (2015), a documentary inspired by Naomi Klein’s international non-fiction bestseller. Filmed in nine countries and five continents over four years, the documentary is an epic attempt to re-imagine the vast challenge of climate change. The film asks: What if confronting the climate crisis is the best chance we’ll ever get to build a better world?
Lewis’ first documentary, The Take (2004), followed Argentina’s movement of worker-run businesses. He co-created and hosted both Al Jazeera English TV’s documentary series Fault Lines and CBC TV’s The Big Picture.
