Whether you’re meeting someone on the doorstep or doing a brief ad spot, sometimes 30 seconds is all you have to make your point. The aim of this pitch is a quick, refined introduction that is friendly and inviting of voters to ask you more. This will also be your chance to meet other participants in the series!
Discussion Focus: Message
The emphasis will be on creating messages rooted in authenticity and simplicity. We will also look at the importance of embracing humor and emotion in public speaking.

The goal is to relate policy to local context in an approachable way.

Who’s in your audience, and where you are, will shape your presentation. We’ll talk about knowing your environment and the constrictions (and benefits!) of presenting in different settings.

What it's like to be a Candidate — with Jo-Ann Roberts
(7:00pm Eastern) What it's like to be a Candidate: Join Green Party of Canada Deputy Leader, Jo-Ann Roberts, in a lively discussion about what it is like to be a Green Party candidate today. Jo-Ann ran in the Victoria riding in 2015 and came within a few percentages of winning. She will share with us her experiences on the campaign trail, working with volunteers, debates, and dealing with the media.
