We lost Rudy Haase, often know as the 'Godfather of land conservation' this past August. A philantrophist whose dedication is unparalleled, he bought and donated thousands of acres of pristine wildnerness across Nova Scotia to the Nova Scotia Land Trust and other organizations. As the Lieutenant-Governor said when honouring him with the Order of Nova Scotia for his life's work, Mr. Haase had opposed "harmful pesticides, uranium mining, nuclear power and clear-cut logging, always with wisdom and civility." The ultimate engaged citizen, Mr. Haase was one of Elizabeth's personal heroes and a dear friend.
On November 24th, Elizabeth will speak at the Haase family's Celebration of Life for Rudy Haase.
