Joey Leckman is an environmentalist and a teacher at the Cégep de Saint-Jérôme. Joey has a Master’s in Educational Psychology and believes that environmental protection begins with teaching respect and love for nature. He has defended environmental and social causes since his youth and was a very active member of Club 2/3 and Amnesty International. He is also on the Cégep de Saint-Jérôme sustainability committee and is president of the Québec Wing of the Green Party of Canada.
“I have spent my life working for social justice, equality and the environment, but I needed to do more. On a personal level, I have travelled by bicycle and electric car for a long time, I heat my home with geothermal energy, and I buy local, eat organic foods. I chose to be involved with the Green Party of Canada because I know that it is the only really integrated party that can guarantee a progressive, environmentally-responsible and egalitarian future for everyone."
