Elizabeth May regrets missing General Rick Hillier’s visit to Pictou County

HALIFAX – Green Party leader Elizabeth May today expressed regret over having to miss planned events in Halifax this weekend along with General Rick Hillier’s visit to Pictou County.

Ms. May has been invited to attend a reception in Ottawa tonight with Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain and will travel to St. John’s, Newfoundland, tomorrow to attend previously-scheduled events.

“I regret being unable to hear General Hillier speak tonight but wish to thank him for his service,” said Ms. May “I applaud efforts of the Chamber of Commerce to bring General Hillier to Pictou County and organize tonight’s dinner. I trust it will be a success.”
