Fundraising Telephone Calls

Objective: 

To telephone past GPC voters to encourage financial support and membership.

Duties / Responsibilities: 

Under the general supervision of the Fundraising Manager / designated staff member:

  • Telephone cross-Canada voters to secure financial support while respecting the limitations on total amounts to be donated. NOT cold calls.  Contacts are approximately 5-10 minutes per call.
  • Follow a prepared script to guide the process.
  • Record information for future updating of donor information in the data bank.
  • Report volunteer work hours on a regular basis.
  • Commitment to the Six Guiding Principles of the Green Party of Canada. Adherence to the Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Must not be a member of another federal political party.
Qualifications / Skills: 

Pleasant telephone manner with excellent English communication skills essential to represent the GPC in a positive light.  Bilingualism an asset.  Experience with telephone appeals preferred but not necessary.  Good sense of judgment.   Attention to detail.  Team player.   Basic computer skills / knowledge.

Time & Location: 

Work to be performed from the GPC Office.  Flexible schedule for hours of work respecting Mondays through Fridays, evenings after 6:00 p.m.

Orientation / Training: 

General orientation to the GPC and specific training to the role provided by the designated supervising staff member or experienced Telephone Fundraising volunteer.
