Telephone Support – Communications Team

Position Type:
Volunteer Objective:
To respond to telephone calls for Communications Team during a General Federal Election Campaign. (2–3 volunteers)
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Respond, screen and direct telephone calls coming into Communications Office
- Respond to requests received from media and forward to appropriate staff member (i.e. requests for interviews with Elizabeth May)
- Receive calls concerning questions and concerns from (approximately 304) GPC Candidates and reassure them that answers will be found and communicated back to them in a timely manner. Respond accordingly to ensure needs are met.
- Report volunteer work hours on a regular basis
- Commitment to the Six Guiding Principles of the Green Party of Canada.
- Adherence to the Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement
- Must not be a member of another federal political party.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Bilingual
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player
- Ability to establish priorities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Time & Location:
Daily; ongoing throughout entire Campaign; various shifts for 2 - 3 volunteers to perform this role. Duties to be performed onsite at National Office.
Orientation / Training:
Orientation to the GPC provided by Coordinator of Volunteer Resources. Specific training for the role and supervision by designated staff member from Communications Team.
