Administrative Support – Communications

Objective: 

To provide administration support to the Communications Team during a General Federal Election Campaign particularly to meet the needs of Candidate Biography postings to the website

Duties / Responsibilities: 
  • Assist with the preparation, editing and postings to the website of Candidates’ biographies (approximately 240 but numbers could vary).
  • Assist with the preparation, editing, selection and postings to the website of approximately 240 Candidates’ photos.
  • Assist with other identified administrative duties, as required.
  • Report volunteer work hours on a regular basis
  • Commitment to the Six Guiding Principles of the Green Party of Canada.
  • Adherence to the Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement
  • Must not be a member of another federal political party.
Qualifications / Skills: 
  • Good editing and writing skills
  • Good knowledge of computers, specifically word processing, photo editor software and ability to work with templates used for posting of information to the website
  • Good communication skills – team player
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingualism desired.
Time & Location: 

Duties to be performed from the office until such time as orientation and training is complete upon which flexibility exists for some duties to be performed from home.  Approximately 20 hours per week throughout the entire campaign.  Upwards to three volunteers may be recruited to perform the role.

Orientation / Training: 

Orientation to the GPC provided by Coordinator, Volunteer Resources.  Specific training for the role provided by designated staff member from Communications Team.
