Ottawa: Elizabeth May attending the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples' AGM

Event Description

Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Islands, will be attending the opening reception of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples' AGM.

This Assembly will bring together Aboriginal representatives from across Canada to address issues that affect Aboriginal Peoples living off-reserve in Canada.  In addition, this year elections will be held for the positions of National Chief and Vice-Chief.

For 41 years, the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples has been the voice for the rights and interests of the off-reserve Non-Status and Status Indians and Métis Aboriginal Peoples living in urban, rural, remote and isolated areas throughout Canada
