Tomorrow Greens celebrate May Day
Tomorrow Green Party candidates and supporters across Canada will celebrate May Day in support of Green Party leader Elizabeth May.
“Is there a Harper Day, or a Layton Day, or an Ignatieff Day? No, but everyone loves May Day,” said Adriane Carr, Deputy Leader of the Green Party and candidate for Vancouver Centre.
Greens will be Tweeting the day with the hashtag #MayDay to spread the message. In the evening, the mini-documentary May in Your House, airs on Business News Network (BNN) at 9pm Eastern and CHEK TV in Vancouver and Victoria at 6:30pm Pacific. The TV event looks at the history of the party and its leader, and at the party platform and vision. A sneak preview is viewable online now at: www.greenparty.ca/tv
“As far as we’re concerned, May Day will actually come twice this year: once on May 1, and again on May 2, when we fully expect Elizabeth May to make history by becoming the first elected Green Member of Parliament,” said Georges Laraque, Deputy Leader of the Green Party and former NHL hockey player.
