Elizabeth May signs on to Canadian Youth Climate Coalition platform

VICTORIA – Elizabeth May, Green Party leader and Saanich—Gulf Islands candidate, met with representatives from the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition today in Victoria to sign on to their climate platform.

“Our youth will be forced to deal with the effects of the climate crisis and I applaud the efforts of the CCYC to bring climate change forward as an issue in this campaign,” said May. “The Greens have the most comprehensive plan to address climate change of any party and we are committed to acting immediately. Young people will be burdened with our changing climate in the future, and they deserve to have a say in the decision-making process today.”

The CYCC are calling on leaders of all political parties to sign on to the five demands in the document, including commitments to climate justice, building a green economy, developing an energy plan, and youth inclusion in climate decision-making.
