- Mission—Matsqui—Fraser Canyon
Arthur Green was born in Mission, BC in 1955, growing up in Agassiz, he attended all twelve years of Grade School at Agassiz Elementary Secondary, graduating on the Academic-Technical program in 1973.
After graduation, Arthur immediately began his first career with the BC Forest Service as a Dispatcher at Ranger District Three, Harrison Hot Springs, BC. During this first career, Arthur was trained in forest protection, silviculture, forest management, as well as emergency dispatch.
After leaving the Forest Service in the 1970's, Arthur began his first venture in self-employment, in the BC shake and shingle industry. Then in the 1980's, Arthur moved on, going back to college, studying Accounting and Office Careers, and founding an independent accounting firm.
As well as running his bookkeeping and income tax firm, Arthur also worked in oil and gas, mining technologies, and motion picture production. It was in 1987, that Arthur became a member in good standing as a motion picture technician, in the International Alliance of Theatrical Screen Employees (IATSE).
In thirty years with the IATSE, Arthur became quite well known and successful, and branched into real estate procurement and sales. It was after these endeavours, that Arthur became involved with politics, focussing specifically on the environment and social inequality.
The new riding of Mission–Matsqui–Fraser Canyon is a perfect fit for Arthur, having been born in Mission, raised in Agassiz, and now living in the Fraser Canyon. As well as living in and loving this area for over sixty years, Arthur is happy to call many of the constituents friends and neighbours.
Since getting involved with the Green Party, Arthur has been instrumental in setting up the local Electoral District Association, and has spent much of the last two years writing to local newspapers, campaigning door-to-door, and meeting with constituents at various community events.
The Green Party of Canada is excited to have Arthur Green as our candidate in the riding of Mission–Matsqui–Fraser Canyon.
