Green Party Statement: Télé-Québec joins the Broadcast Consortium - CPAC to broadcast the 2015 Leaders' Debates

(OTTAWA) - Statement from Julian Morelli, Green Party Director of Communications:

"The audience reach and accessibility to this major debate format developed by the National Broadcasters is growing larger and larger.  It is unprecedented in Canadian history!   We are very pleased to see that Télé-Québec and CPAC have joined forces with the National Broadcasters to ensure that all Canadians have access to the debates.

"This is good for Canadians and for democracy. It gives Canadians the chance to hear from all the major party leaders in a format that reaches all demographics, no matter where they live, or how they choose to watch it.

“Canadians will have an opportunity to hear directly from Elizabeth May about the Green Party’s plan to address the important issues Canadians face today.

"We hope that Prime Minister Harper changes his mind to attend the debates. As Prime Minister, he has an obligation to participate."
