Common Election Questions for Candidates (A Campaign Resource)

Dear Greens,

I have posted answers to some common questions you may encounter in the next campaign as a resource for all Green Party candidates on my blog (http://kerstenskolumn.wordpress.com/common-election-questions-for-candidates/)

Given the priority of electing Elizabeth and the prioritization of human and financial resources that will accompany that decision, it is uncertain how much advice and direct consultation candidates and their campaign teams will have with the National Office during an election. In light of that, I hope that you find this section of my site useful in your campaigns.

The answers were developed collaboratively with candidates during my work in the 2008 Federal Election and in particular 2008 Guelph by-election to elect Mike Nagy. They are based on Vision Green, press releases and official statements, and feedback from candidates. Since the election there has been a policy convention (March 2009 in Pictou). To date no updates to the Green Party’s policy document, Vision Green, have been made, but this will almost certainly change in the coming months.

As I go through my archive of answers in questionnaires, I will parse them out and add them to the site

Please feel free to share this widely among campaigns and candidates!

Good work, here's another link

Dear Mark,

Good work on that, and a good resource not only for candidates but for canvassers, communicators, and anyone else who is going to be explaining policy in a pitch, or in detail.  Might also be used to educate your community's members as part of community organizing.

Here's another link that came out during the last election:
