Regional and demographic economic disparities have grown in five years and an economy that seems rudderless and prone to economic circumstances beyond Canada's control to extent this signifies a maturing economy yet resource-based prairie economy is not the modern knowledge-based value-added type of economy for which sustains longer term growth however it may shore up federal reserves in near term
Chronic unemployment is on the rise and savings levels will not be enough to sustain same quality of life for many Canadians. Disability levels are climbing and the provincial and federal disability earned income and income supports are woefully inadequate

World Economic Forum in Davos
Canada like every other nation in the world cannot tackle these challenges alone; I have been following the discussions in Davos lately; despite issues that you mentioned, it seems that there is a sense of genuine global cooperation at the same time. The cohesiveness and unity among the world leaders was more noticeable than before, so all of the challenging issues that you mentioned can be addressed in a more collaborative fashion hopefully; the world is more interconnected than ever, and MULTILATERALISM is the way to go.
